Seams
A seam allowance may be attached to any pattern element at a specific distance from it. The attached seam allowance moves with an element whenever the element is moved or changed. When a seam allowance is added, an element’s notches automatically move out to the cut line. Different elements of a pattern may each have a different seam allowance width.
Seam allowance tools are available on the Toolbar.

When adjacent elements have seam allowances added, they are automatically connected at their ends. The Seam Corner tool lets you choose the connection style you want to use.
Seam Properties
If the selected element has a Seam Allowance, you can edit, add, or remove it via the Element Tool Window.
Setting Seam Allowance Presets
You can preset five different seam allowance widths. During pattern editing, these seam widths may be easily added to an element by clicking the Seam Allowance button and clicking on the seam allowance you want.
If you hover the mouse over the Seam Allowance tool you will see the currently selected seam allowance. Press the arrow on the right and you will open the Seam Allowance selection dialog. Select the preset you want to use.
If you want to customize the presets, click the Edit Seam Allowances button.
Seam Corner Styles
The Seam Corner tool lets you choose the connection style for the seam allowances of neighboring elements. The tool is a toggle and will remain active until you click it again or click on the selector tool. While active, seam ends will be shown with a circle. Selected seam ends will have a filled circle.
Click on any seam end connection point or points and then select the style you want to use. You can window select multiple seam ends at once. You can also add seam ends by holding down the Shift key while you select.
Three seam end styles are available:
Extend Corner
Seam ends extend to an intersection point or by one seam allowance length, if that is shorter.
Slant Corner
Seams always extend to their intersection with the sew lines.
Return Corner
The seam allowance does a 90 degree return.
