Guides
Guides are useful for creating temporary snap locations. You can snap to any guide, or to the intersection of a guide and any other element. Guides can be horizontal/vertical, at any angle, tangent to any point, or any distance from a point. Snapping is active by default when using the Guide tool. It is not necessary to hold the Ctrl key down.
Grid tools are available at the bottom of the Pattern Editor window.
Normal Guide
Adds a normal guide to any point.
Angle Guide
Adds a normal guide to a point but rotated at an angle. You can set that angle of rotation in the attributes panel on the right.
Tangent Guide
Adds a guide that is tangential to any point. You can add an offset in the attributes panel to the right. If offset is added, two guides will be created.
Distance Guide
Adds a circle guide around a point. You can change the radius in the attributes panel on the right.
Erase Guides
If there are any guides in the editor, you can erase them by pressing the Erase Guides button.
