Material Library Server

To use a material library, a Material Library Server needs to be created. When PatternSmith 11 is installed, the material library server software is also installed. If you only want the server installed, install only the Material Library Server.

Server Modes

There are three main ways to use a Material Library Server:

1. Single User
2. Local Server
3. Network Server

Single User

Single User is when the material library server is being used only from the computer that PatternSmith is installed on. The Material Library resides on the local computer and is not shared with any other user.

When using Single User, no configuration of the server is required.

Local Server

Local Server is when the local computer that is also running PatternSmith is acting as the material library server. The local computer and other computers on the same network are using that material library.

Network Server

Network Server is when the material library is accessed on a network server.
