Duplicate
The duplicate tool makes a copy of the current selection. There are four different versions of the tool, accessible from the tool drop-down menu.
Duplicate Array
The Duplicate Array tool creates a grid of copies of the current selection at X and Y spacing from the original.
Select the element(s) you want to duplicate. Click the Array button in the Duplicate drop-down or press Shift + L.
Enter the number of columns and rows you want for the grid. Initially, the spacing will be set to the X and Y extents of your selection, but you can change those values for the grid you want to create. Click the Fit to Area toggle button and you can enter new values for the final size of the new grid. This will scale and the selection and fit it in the specified area. The preview will dynamically update as you change the values.
Click Duplicate to accept the changes. Pressing Enter after changing a value will also accept the changes.
Duplicate Delta
The Duplicate Delta tool makes any number of copies of the current selection at an offset from the original.
Select the element(s) you want to duplicate. Click the Delta button in the Duplicate drop-down or press Shift + K.
Enter the Delta X and Delta Y values and the number of copies you want. The preview will dynamically update as you change the values.
Click Duplicate to accept the changes. Pressing Enter after changing a value will also accept the changes.
Duplicate Offset
The Duplicate Offset tool creates a copy of each currently selected element, offset by a specified distance perpendicular to the original at each point. The offset distance can be set using a preset in the drop down or directly typing a value in the Offset field.
Select the element(s) you want to duplicate. Click the Offset button in the Duplicate drop-down or press Shift + O.
Select the elements to be offset and then move the mouse over one of the elements. The direction of the offset will change as the cursor moves to either side of the element. Click to create the offset. Use the toggle to Enable the Extend Trim tool. This will extend or trim the elements wherever the original are touching to maintain a complete path.
The default values in the offset drop down can be edited using the Edit Presets button.
Click Duplicate to accept the changes. Pressing Enter after changing a value will also accept the changes.
Duplicate Polar Array
The Duplicate Polar Array option is used to duplicate the current selection in a polar array about any point.
Select the element(s) you want to duplicate. Click the Polar Array button in the Duplicate drop-down or press Shift + P.
Enter the Angle to fill and the total number of copies (Count) you want in the polar array. The total number includes the original.
The center of rotation will initially be at (0,0). Hold the Shift + Alt keys and use your mouse to select a different center. You can use the Ctrl key to snap the rotation center to a specific point.
The preview will dynamically update as you change the values. Click Duplicate to accept the changes. Pressing Enter after changing a value will also accept the changes.
