User Interface
Pattern Navigator
See each pattern’s name and a preview. Quickly switch between patterns without leaving the Editor Window. To change patterns just click on the pattern you want to edit. Easily copy the contents of one pattern into another with a simple right-click copy/paste.
New Patterns Window
The hotkey was changed from Ctrl + P to Ctrl + N, and the window can be shown with no elements selected to create a new pattern directly from the pattern editor.
Pattern Properties Window
The pattern editor now has consolidated properties. So you can select multiples of the same element type or subtype, and set properties (eg, selecting two or more circles and changing the radius of all selected or selecting a text and barcode element and changing the text property). When a property field is empty, it means that the selected elements have different values for that field.
Setting Element Tools
Element tool selection has been removed from the left toolbar. Setting the tool on elements can be done via the combo box at the top of the properties window, via the context menu, or using hotkeys.
Endpoint Visuals
PatternSmith 11 uses the following visuals for element endpoints
- Start point: filled circle
- End point: hollow circle
- Interior point: hollow circle
- Selected point: hollow circle with filled dot
Guides
Construction Guides have been moved from the ribbon into the bottom toolbar.
Background Photo Markers
Marker color selection has been removed from the background photo tool window. The marker design has been changed to black and white which will always provide contrast on any image.
