CadShot Mobile – Manual – Software

Overview

CadShot Mobile offers a quick and easy way to turn a paper or fabric pattern into a CAD pattern, from a photo of the pattern taken using your smartphone or tablet.

CadShot Mobile removes skew and lens distortion, then finds the edges of your pattern, and sends the photo with a polyline perimeter from your smartphone to your desktop computer for final processing.

If you use PatternSmith, CadShot Mobile will be automatically configured to create PatternSmith compatible files. Make sure to install PatternSmith before CadShot Mobile Server. If you aren’t using PatternSmith, CadShot will be configured to create a DXF file. DXF files can be read into most CAD programs. The installer will automatically install a separate CadShot Mobile Configuration application.

Cadshot Mobile uses an Android device in combination with a computer with Windows 7 or newer. A WiFi connection between the mobile device and the computer is required.

CadShot Mobile Tab In PatternSmith

To access the CadShot Mobile Tab in PatternSmith, go to File > Preferences > Plugins > Cadshot Mobile.

Information

Contains the IP address of the computer being used, the current version of CadShot Mobile, and the CadShot Mobile Help File.

Options

Contains the location of the CadShot files that are created by this process.
