Parameters

Parameters can be used to evaluate a value using variables or other parameters in the expression. Parameters can also be used to determine what tool to use.

Creating a Parameter

To start creating a parameter, click the Add button under the Parameters panel on the right. Once you press the Add button the Parameter Tab will change.

Enter the Name, Expression, and Type of parameter it is.

The expression can be a number or an expression. You can also use variables and other parameters in the expression.

There are different types of variables:

Length: the length of an element. Most controls only use Length Parameters.

Angle: the angle between two elements.

Tool: Changes the type of tool used. To learn more about the Tool variable, reference Select Tool.

When you are finished creating the variable, press the Accept button.

Editing a Parameter

There are two ways of editing a parameter. The first way is to double-click the parameter name. Here you can easily change the expression. The second way is to hover over the parameter and click the Gear icon. If you click the gear, the parameter tab will appear with that parameter information. Here you can edit the parameter.

To remove a variable or parameter, hover over and click the X.

Applying a Parameter

Each time you create a new control that can accept parameters, the Tool Window will show the name of the tool, with a Parameter dropdown. Click in the dropdown and select the parameter name to associate with the new control.
